I don’t like to be surprised at weddings. I work really hard to make sure I am beyond prepared for everything. But I was pleasantly surprised when I met lovely Rochelle and Danny for the first time, on their wedding day. They had booked online and we had been communicating exclusively via phone and emails, so I had actually never met the bride or groom in person. Upon meeting them, I realized this was going to be a great couple to work with! The bride prepared promptly, and the outdoor ceremony on the courtyard of Brennan’s began.
After the ceremony, I took some time to get portraits of Rochelle and Danny around the restaurant. What became obvious during this brief time alone with them is how much Danny adores Rochelle. After a few photos of them facing at the camera, I would prompt Danny to look at Rochelle and he would just melt with love for her. After the session, we headed upstairs to the reception where they shared their first dance and you couldn’t help but see the love between them. Then during the dance, I caught some of Danny’s infectious laughter on camera! I loved getting a few more of these hearty laughs during the reception. As the night went on, I got to see Danny interact with those closest to him in an incredibly caring and loving way. He even gave me a huge hug at the end of the evening and told me how much he appreciated my services.
The guests enjoyed an amazing Brennan’s dinner while the Jazz trio Merlot Music provided the background music. Rochelle and Danny also made sure that all the vendors were served the same meal that the guests were served, which they certainly did not have to, but went a long way in making us feel a valued part of their special evening. After dinner and toasts, the couple cut the cake and shared laughter and hugs as they chose to hang out with the guests instead of a grand exit. It was the perfect end for Rochelle and Danny’s wedding.
